Queens of 2nd generation K-Pop, 2NE1, officially reunited last Saturday night, 16th of April at the Coachella 2022 main stage. They came together during the 88rising’s “Head In The Clouds Forever” set, after the leader, CL‘s solo performance of “Spicy,” from her recent album Alpha, and 2015’s hit “Hello Bitches.” Following on, Dara, Park Bom, and Minzy joined her on stage to perform their 2011 iconic track, “I Am The Best“, taking the audience into an excited frenzy with their captivating stage presence.
Fans had a hint of this special reunion as the members had expressed their wish to reunite soon on multiple occasions, even though their solo careers keep them busy. Moreover, 2NE1 was also tagged in the performing lineup post made by 88rising on Weibo, which had the fans guessing.
Although they performed only one song, the stage was very emotional for artists and fans alike.

2NE1 took their last stage seven years ago at the 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards with a similar set that was led by CL. They bid farewell to their fans in 2017 with their final single “Goodbye” after their final album, Crush came out in 2014. They found success soon after debuting under YG Entertainment in 2009 and became trendsetters for K-Pop while they were active. In 2012, they also became the first K-Pop girl group ever to go on a world tour.
The first weekend set of Coachella 2022 also saw other smashing Asian acts through 88rising’s “Head In The Clouds Forever” showcase; like Warren Hue, GOT7’s Jackson Wang, MILLI, BIBI, NIKI, Rich Brian, HIKARU UTADA, and many more!
