Over the last few years, the Hallyu wave has been overflowing in India with many K-Pop groups getting recognition and more popularity in our country. This flow has also resulted in a lot of Indian celebrities taking notice of such groups and publicly displaying their appreciation.
The most recent such event was when the famous actor Tiger Shroff posted a video on his social media handles of him dancing to the BTS hit song Dynamite. He, along with 2 other people, enthusiastically danced to the retro-inspired single in their dance studio.
Back in 2018, singer and composer Vishal Dadlani quote retweeted an Indian EXO-L’s tweet saying ‘@VishalDadlani waiting for you to collaborate with kpop vocal kings EXO’ with a reply that stated how he would be more than willing to do so, exciting fans of both parties.
I'd love to. Ask them to call me. 🙂 https://t.co/hEgpvYYZzA

There have been quite a few times that the internationally known composer, singer and producer AR Rahman has mentioned BTS, but one of the most exciting ones was at the 2020 Grammys where the artist took to his Instagram to post (arguably) one of the best BTS mini-fancams out there is BTS performing Old Town Road with the original singer Lil Nas X.
Hardik Pandya, the cricketer that has represented India internationally, posted an Instagram story on the 5th of November 2018 of him jamming to BTS and Steve Aoki’s song Waste It On Me in the car with his dog.

Diljit Dosanjh, who works in Hindi and Punjabi cinema, voiced his respect for BTS with a simple yet meaningful tweet last year in May.
Most of the people that follow Disha Patani, the actress, know that she is a fan of BTS. On the 1st of September this year, she posted a story of her dog with Zero O’Clock playing through Instagram music. She even follows a BTS fanpage on Instagram.
Last but definitely not the least, Indian actor, singer and television host Ayushmann Khurrana caught the attention desi ARMYs when he posted an Instagram story of a selfie with Jungkook’s song Euphoria playing through Instagram Music. When asked about the group, he stated ‘I indeed enjoy all kinds of music, like exploring a lot and love listening to them. Euphoria happens to be one of the favorites.’
I’m sure all of us Indian K-Pop loving fans would love to see more such special mentions made by our national idols of our favourite Korean artists. Let us hope that the future of K-Pop x India is bright!
