Since the release of GOT7’s last album Breath of Love: Last Piece, speculations were rife that the group is leaving its parent company JYP Entertainment. Both, the septet and the company remained tight-lipped about the same. The rumors started flooding in late December 2020 and early January 2021, after Dispatch leaked the news that GOT7 will not renew their contracts with JYP. There was some back and forth, but the news was finally released that GOT7 had decided to part ways with JYP. After leaving JYP Entertainment in January 2021, the septet came together and compiled up their best memories and messages for their fans in a song called Encore.

The members decided to embark on the paths to focus on their solo careers. Mark went back home to his parents in the US, whereas BamBam went back to Thailand. Youngjae, Jinyoung, and Jackson had their paths clear and signed with new agencies soon. The leader of the group, JB (now Jay B) took his time to reveal the agency he has signed with. Let’s take a look at the new agencies of the members.

Where are GOT7 members now?

When GOT7 was still in the midst of negotiating their contract with JYP, there were already rumors floating around of the members Yugyeom and Jinyoung joining AOMG & BH Entertainment. And the rumors got validation soon. In fact, one of the earliest members to sign a contract with a new company right away after leaving JYP Entertainment was Jinyoung. He decided on pursuing his career in acting after joining BH Entertainment, an actor’s management company that houses actors like Park Bo Young, Park Sung Hoon, Lee Jin Wook, Kim Yong Ji, Kim Go Eun, etc.

Jinyoung is now dazzling the audience with his elite acting in the K-Drama series Devil’s Judge, which is an adaptation of a webtoon of the same name and was released this June on TvN.

Since then, Yugyeom has released his first solo album ‘Point of View: U’ which topped the iTunes charts in numerous countries within hours of its release!

While all the members were sorting out their paths after leaving JYP, our multi-talented rapper from the group, Jackson Wang already had his mind set on what to go for next. Jackson decided to keep promoting his work globally and in China through his self-founded record label Team Wang, while he also joined hands with Sublime Artist Agency to promote his activities in Korea. At the latest, one of the highlight appearances of the idol was on The Late Late Show With James Corden where we got to see him perform his English single ‘LMLY’!

The agency also manages artists like SUNMI, Urban Zakapa, etc. He has since appeared in a few brand endorsements in Thailand, as well as sung the OST for the Thai movie Con Heartist. Though the most important milestone this year has to be the release of his first mini-album ‘riBBon’, which was an apt expression of the idol’s individuality!
