The reigning winners of ‘Road to Kingdom’, The Boyz defeated 6 celebrated groups – Pentagon, ONF, Golden Child, Verivery, Oneus, and TOO, and gained the golden ticket to join the ‘Kingdom’ lineup. Having given some jaw-dropping, strong, and unique stages on ‘Road to Kingdom’, they are a force to reckon with, even after being in the industry for only three years.

The Boyz are an energetic group of 11 captivating members – Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, New, Q, Juhaknyeon, Sunwoo and Eric, under Cre.Ker Entertainment. Debuting on 6th December 2017, their discography consists of various genres and concepts which they pull off with great finesse and appeal.
Their latest comeback, ‘The Stealer’, was pulled off from their win on ‘Road to Kingdom’ and is an assortment of funk and bass with impetuous verses making the track electrified and vibrant. The music video sets the premise of the title of the track well and shows the charms of the members as they plan a heist – to most likely steal our hearts!
They are probably the youngest group (if you consider their debut date, 16th November 2020) but are yet the most experienced group to participate. BTOB 4U has set the expectations high, for the show as well as the fellow groups.
Since Hyunsik and Sungjae are currently serving in the military, BTOB is promoting as BTOB 4U comprising of four magnetic members, Eunkwang, Minhyuk, Changsub and Peniel. Having been in the industry for eight years, they already have a well-established hold and never once have disappointed listeners with their music releases, being versatile and open to experimentation always.
BTOB 4U debuted with ‘Show Your Love’, an electro-pop track with dulcet vocals and catchy rap verse, depicting the love and support we need in difficult times. The video highlights each member in a different scenario, portraying the contrasting shades of love.
Having the most distinct discography of bold sounds and being one of the entrenched groups, debuting on 15th September 2015, iKON is known to covet the hip-hop genre. Since their last comeback was a year ago, fans are thrilled to see their group activities on the show.
iKON is under YG Entertainment, with 6 enthralling members – Jay, Song, Bobby, DK, Ju-ne and Chan. They are known to deliver with intensity and are one of the strongest stage performers, making them the perfect contenders for the ultimate throne of the King.
Their last comeback, ‘Dive’ is an upbeat combination of EDM and hip-hop over country, with smooth conveyance of the verses by the members. The video compliments the euphonious song where the members are seen jumping over dangers to save their loved ones. Do keep an eye out for a new single being released on March 3rd.
The dynamic group SF9 being added to the lineup gives us so much to look forward to as their recent comebacks have been charting worldwide. From daring concepts to fun, there isn’t a genre SF9 can’t pull off. It’s gripping to see what new concepts they would bring to the show.
The mixture of 9 irresistible members – Youngbin, Inseong, Jaeyoon, Dawon, Zuho, Rowoon, Yoo Taeyang, Hwiyoung and Chani, debuted on 5th October 2016 under FNC Entertainment. They are promoters of the avant-garde as their music always experiments with lesser-known genres, giving them their own touch.
‘Summer Breeze’, borders on synth and house, yet having a feathery feel to suit the mood of the title. The music video is cinema-esque, portraying the members in a mafia-drug lord scenario, and we’re here for them to duplicate this look on the show!
Yet another group with the overflowing potential for the future, the free-spirited group Stray Kids are a compelling addition to the already star-studded lineup. Having one of the strongest debuts, they have created buzz every time they release new music. As expected, their addition into the show sent the fans into hysteria and expectations keep rising!
Stray Kids debuted on 25th March 2018 under JYP Entertainment and currently consists of 8 charismatic members – Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N. Within just two years, they have created a varying discography that holds some of the most inspiring songs among the 4th generation groups.
Their latest comeback, ‘Back Door’, was one of the big releases last year which has a compulsive bass and rhythmic drive of hip-hop. The members showcase strong choreography and dance skills in the music video, a great pair to go along with the strong, funky track.
Last, but definitely not the last, ATEEZ is undeniably one of the strongest groups in terms of energy which exudes the moment they step on the stage. Dubbed as 4th Generation Leaders of KPOP by the Korean Ministry, they are yet another group that the senior groups on the show need to look out for!
The group debuted under KQ Entertainment on 24th October 2018 with 8 mesmeric members – Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung, and Jongho. Having one of the most difficult choreographies and adroit vocals, they have set the bar high for their own future releases, one of which is very near – March 1st, 2021!
Their last comeback, ‘Thanxx’ is a prime example of what ATEEZ specializes in – swashing rhythms and spontaneous with, of course, smooth powerful vocals. It’s coupled with a refreshing, colorful video that shows the group’s robust choreography.
With all this overflowing talent in each of the participant groups, every group seems to have an equal chance of winning the throne. This for many fans spells trouble as they can’t seem to decide who to support. With such a promising lineup, ‘Kingdom’ will also surely be one of the most talked-about idol survival shows of this year. We’re also looking forward to groups interacting with each other during the show and giving us wholesome content other than those breath-taking performances on the stage! All in all, this one will be one hell of a rollercoaster ride. So, fasten up your seatbelts, real tight, and get ready!
