
On May 25, 2021, just after a few days of his solo single “Switch it Up”‘s release, GOT7’s JB who is now known as Jay B, achieved a great feat at the Billboards Charts, making him the first Korean soloist to do so. After parting ways with JYP entertainment, Jay B joined H1GHR Music, an international hip hop and R&B record label, which is owned by Korean American rapper Jay Park and Cha Cha Malone.

Three days later after the announcement of his joining H1GHR Music, Jay B made his solo debut by releasing “Switch It Up” featuring rapper Sokodomo. This self-written and self-composed song by Jay B made its debut at no. 12 on the Gaon download chart. On May 25, it was revealed that “Switch It Up” entered the Billboards R&B digital sales chart at no. 6 making Jay B the first Korean soloist to do so. The same day, the song charted at no. 18 on the Billboard R&B/hiphop digital songs sales chart making him the 3rd Korean soloist to do so.

About Jay B
GOT7’s Jay B is not only a singer but also a songwriter, record producer, dancer, model and actor. In May 2012, Jay B along with his fellow trainee Jin-young debuted as a duo JJ Project with the single album “Bounce”. On January 16, 2016, the duo debuted as part of a seven-member boy band called GOT7. On March 5, 2019, Jay B also debuted in JUS2, a GOT7 sub-unit with his bandmate Yugyeom with EP “Focus” and single “Focus on Me“. Additionally, he is also a part of the R&B crew Offshore.
