Spotify Reveals The Most Streamed K-Pop Artists and Tracks of 2020 [India Edition]

The last month of this stuck-at-home rollercoaster year has arrived and with it, has come the time of looking back at the days gone by in 2020, where for most of us music has served as our constant companion and a comforting consolation in our daily isolated lives. 

To relive the sounds that soundtracked their listener’s lives, Spotify released their Spotify Wrapped 2020 which for the K-Poppers worldwide, unveils the Top K-Pop artists, songs, and albums globally, that listeners just couldn’t get enough of this year!

Spotify also shared exclusive Top K-Pop Artists, Tracks, and Albums Lists of their Indian K-Pop listening community, with KHIGH, which once again proves how much K-Pop has influenced the music tastes of our younger Indian generation.


  • BTS declared the Most Streamed Group globally and the Top K-Pop Artist on Spotify in 2020 with almost 5 billion streams!
  • Agust D is the Most Streamed Male K-Pop Artist globally and IU is the Most Streamed Female K-Pop Artist globally this year.
  • BTS’ first all-English single, “Dynamite” is 2020’s Most streamed K-Pop song, followed by BLACKPINK’s “How You Like That” which has more than 300 million streams to date.
  • The Most Streamed K-Pop Album of the year is also BTS’ “MAP OF THE SOUL: 7”. 
  • The Most Streamed Korean OST is “Sweet Night” by V (Kim Taehyung) from the soundtrack of K-Drama, ‘Itaewon Class’.
  • Most Streamed Artists on Spotify’s RADAR Korea playlist included 2020’s rookie boy-group, TREASURE, AleXa and BIBI (in order).
  • The Most Streamed Korean R&B track in 2020 is “Candy” by EXO’s BAEKHYUN while the Most Streamed Korean HipHop track was declared to be ZICO’s “Any song”.



  • The Most Streamed K-Pop Artist on Spotify India in 2020 is BTS, closely followed by the girl group, BLACKPINK. 
  • BTS is also the only international artist in the Top 5 Artists List of Spotify India, occupying the #4 spot while the group’s album,
  • MAP OF THE SOUL: 7, grabbed the #3 spot in Top Streamed Album in India, proving the rising K-Pop culture in India.
  • The most Streamed K-Pop Album in India this year is  MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 by BTS. The group also dominated this list as their albums grabbed 9 spots out of the Top 10 Most Streamed K-Pop Album in India list.
  • BTS’ single, “Dynamite” is also the Most Streamed K-Pop track in India and is followed by another track by the group titled, Boy With Luv (ft. Halsey).

With this detailed audio trend analysis, Spotify gave Indian K-Poppers a chance to celebrate and reflect on the influence of different artists and their tracks on listeners with similar interests, both in our country and abroad, for this year.

2020 also saw for the first time, Spotify revealing the top tracks across a variety of Korean genres (not just K-Pop) that have piqued global listeners’ interests, like K-Hip-hop, K-Drama OSTs, and K-R&B tracks, which is another cause to celebrate the unyielding surge of the Hallyu Wave.
