Latest K-HipHop and K-R&B Songs:

JAY B – ‘Switch It Up (ft. sokodomo) (Prod. Cha Cha Malone)’

Showcasing an alluringly mature, romantic-but-sultry side of himself, GOT7’s leader, JAY B who recently created waves with the news of his signing to H1GHR MUSIC, opens up the doors to his new path with 2020’s Label of the Year with ‘Switch It Up’. Aside from A1 production (quite expected considering it was a ‘Cha Cha beat’ after all), JAY B’s smooth transitions from full-bodied velvety vocals to saccharine, ethereal ones, and sokodomo’s addition of his own eccentric flavor to the track is what makes the listening experience so charming. The supportive ambiance created through the mystical, triadic music video and JAY B’s spellbinding visuals and suave dance moves, also adds to the overall otherworldly feel of the track.

D.Ark – ‘GENIUS (ft. CHANGMO)’

Known by all as the boldest young rapper around whose confidence level is always at A1, D.Ark had shown his as-humane-as-anybody-else sides in Highschool Rapper 4. Continuing on with this revelation of his other sides, D.Ark’s recent EP with the title track ‘Genius’ brings to the forefront the unlimited, holistic artistry of his music. ‘Genius’ sees D.Ark showcasing his elite rap skills while suavely grooving to the beats and slowing it down with a melodic vocal bridge towards the end – totally worthy of being proclaimed as a genius!

The addition of Piano Maestro and Ambition Musik’s chart-topper, CHANGMO in the lead track, with his signature piano melody and rap delivery that is enunciated with piercing diction, is another ingenious move.

Signed to KQ Entertainment and known by mainstream K-Pop enthusiasts as the talented producer who has worked with Dance Kings, ATEEZ, artist Maddox has perfectly showcased his exceptional singing abilities in his latest track, ‘Knight’. With the softest and most ethereal vocals that have graced us this year, Maddox’s voice dips in and out of the simplistic-yet-uniquely-calming music instrumentation as it changes pitch to almost an unbelievable range, quite flawlessly. sokodomo – ‘MM (ft. Jay Park) (Prod. sesåme)’

The title track of the album, titled ‘MM (Murder Mind)’ shows the raging roars of the subconscious trying to break free of the rational, conscious self of us humans who have to go through the suffocating menialities of everyday life. Alongside an Oscar-deserving performance of this theme through the gory music video by Sokodomo and Jay Park, the rock-infused music production by rookie producer Sesåme and the electrifying vocal projections of the two artists make ‘MM’ a graphic-sonic sensation!

With an ear-pleasing production by Grammy-winning producer, The Stereotypes, ‘Got It Like That’ starts off with Destiny Rogers showing off her drip with a magnetic and clean vocal projection and aura. This is followed by B.I. whose soft-but-determined proclamation of, “Finna take off/ Be my own boss/ Ain’t no limit, coz it ain’t my fault”, is not just sonically pleasing to hear but also heartwarmingly so. The comfortable balanced space created by these two artists also isn’t broken by Tyla Yaweh as he takes control of the beat; rather he blends perfectly into the mix and even manages to enhance the melodic trippy flavors of it.

GRAY – ‘Connected’

This track just might be that one “always-on-loop” song that you had been waiting for, all week long!

The signature “GRAY~” sound at the beginning of any song may be a sure guarantee of it being top-notch quality, but when this signature is followed by AOMG’s producer-rapper, GRAY’s own delightfully charming verses, is when even the top-notch quality ceiling becomes ceilingless! ‘Connected’ is the latest testimony of this fact as it carries the chill, groovy vibes of an immaculate pairing of catchy music production with GRAY’s soft, melodic vocals. With such exceptional sonics, it is quite hard to believe that the track is actually just another part of a Samsung Korea ad campaign!

YUMIN – ‘With Me (ft. Skinny Brown)’

Much-anticipated because of the bop pre-release single, ‘Where I Walk’ he had released with Bition Gang’s rapper ASH ISLAND earlier, Pablo Mu2ik crew’s YUMIN’s EP, ‘YM’ is finally out! With a total of 4 tracks, you would think it wouldn’t be as memorable as the longer full-albums put out by others, however, that is not the case with ‘YM’. This album though shorter than most others, is filled to the brim with mellifluent, rock-infused lyrical raps and vocals which depend on each other to elevate the overall listening experience of the listeners of the album.
